Woe is me...

You ever get something stuck in head and it keeps coming back to bother you? That's how it's been for me for the past couple of days. It's really mucked up my thinking process and my sleep schedule as well. Hopefully, I'll get past it one day. The weather down here in Bleaksburg isn't helping as well. Today is the first day that it hasn't rained (Memorial Day, yippee!) and we don't even have a grill! Ah well.

The three day weekend is winding down to an end, I ordered wiring sleeving for my case. I figure, I'll have this PC for a LONG time so I might as well do it right. I also added a picture of me and Merc to my profile. Other than that, it's been a pretty boring time. Flames play again tonight, so let's go Canada! Wooo!

Work! Pah...

So how can I sum up the last two days, but with two 'words': Ho hum. Work has been kinda slow as of late, I've finished all my assigned tasks. Slacking on most of it. The laptop database took no more than an hour, and finding the errors on our CD for the XP setup took the longest. I was kind of disheartened after the meeting Thursday, and felt that all my debugging and recommendations were for naught. Anyways, I went ahead and finished my bug report and recommendations, as well as catching grammatical errors in all the documentation. If I found grammar errors, you know it was bad. =p Today, the head programmer comes down to talk to me (eep!) about some executables that I'd found that our program wasn't detecting. I let him play around in the registry. Later that day, I found out that all my recommendations (ones i'd brought up at the meeting and in my analysis file), which I had been told 'Weren't going to happen this year,' were in! Woohoo!

Work just dragged on for the rest of the day and the BT took forever to get back (damn trainee drivers). We (Joe, Mustard, and I) headed off to Oasis. God I love jellyfish. Then over to Home Depot. I'm currently working on building a new PC, but first, I was to finish all the case work so I don't have to worry about hardware being in my way. I have a Thermaltake V1000a super tower, the black and red one. So, I ordered some ultra blue LEDs for the HD and power light and needed a soldering iron to finish up that work. I also needed a dremel to drill away some screw heads, because this case is so well put together, when I tried to take off the front plate, I stripped two of the four screws on the bottom plate. The red and black plates on the front are separate and I want to paint the red one silver to match the rest of my black and silver PC parts (God bless Logitech). I'm also considering changing the light up Thermaltake display on the front to something else. Back to the LEDs, I ordered two ultra blue to replace the HD and Power LEDs. I pulled the cables and LEDs out of the Thermaltake and hooked them up to my current PC. The blue for the power was pretty bright but the yellow for the HD was really weak. I went ahead and cut off the HD LED and soldered on the new blue. I hooked it back up to the PC again and they matched! I had never seen ultra blue before, but apparently Thermaltake cases use that for the power. So, I gave my spare LED to Joe. As for the Dremel, I didn't know the things were so damn expensive, I found a kit online for 25, so I checked it out at Home Depot ... kit means accessories, not accessories plus Dremel. So, I'll have to wait till I visit the woman to finish that job.

Speaking of which, the woman, 'Merc', is added as a member, because I suck at thinking and typing at the same time, so she runs through and fixes all my mistakes. Thank you.
(merc: not all of them... i just help the posts make more sense... ;p)

Trying out the post by email

Just trying out the post by email thing, see if it really works. It'll be
sweet if it does.

Changed my template, too. Don't know why, just felt like it.

What a day!

I don't know what time to say my day started, but I'm going with pretty damn early.

My fiancee left to 'go cook something' around three am last night and put up an away message. I went ahead and finished my webpage work, did my exercises, and got ready for bed. That was about an hour and she still wasn't back and I began to worry and continually called her cell. About five o'clock she returns to let me know she had fallen asleep when she was changing for bed and the only thing that woke her up was the start of storm.

With that heavy burden off my mind, I finally went to sleep. I intended to get up at 9, but didn't finally get out of bed till 11. I showered, got dressed, and made some damn good ramen (woulda had beef but I felt rushed). Then the UPS guy beat down our apartment door to deliver Joe his Foreman grill from home. Bitchin'. I piddled away the last half an hour before walking with Joe to the bus stop for the first day of work. *sigh* Got there about 20 minutes early. At least now I know what time the good ole BT shows up. On the bus was some dude hittin' on this chubby asian chick, Joe said he was Canadian, but I don't believe that insult. The dude kept talking about all this worthless crap he saw in Germany. He even claimed some German town was the most contaminated in the world; I thought it was Chernobyl, which I know is NOT in Germany but in some Russian or former Soviet state. *shrug*.

Fifteen minutes later we're at the library and began our walk towards Torg. We get to work fifteen minutes early and talk to Anne about our short break and the like. Sno is soon to follow (damn him!), then spoon and Courtney. She got to go to Canada! I am jealous >:O She went to Montreal (damn separatist) and Toronto. No mention of the Hockey Hall of Fame though, just the CN Tower and the Falls *shrugs*. Introductions occured all day long and with just about everybody in ISC. The head mac rep has a loaded G5 and a 23" Cinema... bastard. Onto a 2 hour long meeting about what we're doing this summer. I'm in charge of equipment stuff (laptops, network cards, etc). JOY! Roger and I made fools out of ourselves trying to set up the projection screen so Anne could use it for a whole 5 minutes. Then, downstairs to pick up our Dell laptops (despite being a Dell, pretty bitchin'. I can take it home with me. 1.2 ghz 512 RAM ain't bad on Win2k). Then into our cubicle-like office where Roger sits, with his G5. *jealous*

So, spend the rest of the day in our office. I got the test PC with XP (haha); Sno, to my right, is pimpin' a ME system; an OS X Panther G3 sits between me and Joe, and he has a ME machine as well. Har har! Ah well, spent the rest of work reading over the horribly written VTnet documentation and talking with Sno. Was going to take TCB home, but it began to rain, so Joe and I just jumped on the UMall bus, walked to Kroger to grab paper towels for the apartment and walked home in the rain. Long day and I still have to watch the Pistons play tonight. I think I'll find myself cheering in Detroit in two sports -- basketball and football (Kevin Jones baby! -- and hating them in hockey. F'in' Wings... Weird world, eh?

Time to fix some hamburger!

First post

Yeah! Wooo! Set up my blog today!

Why? I don't really know. I was seeing if I could change the Google toolbar to a Froogle toolbar; when I saw the link for Blog, I thought, what the hell.
